70th Birthday Picnic

It was my brother-in-law's 70th Birthday this weekend so we took another drive up the M5 to Bewdley where we all went for a fun family and friends picnic at Highley in the Country Park created on the bones of the old colliery there - hence the old pit wheel in the photos.
The weather was perfect if a bit too hot but we were able to congregate in the shade. However, an awful lot of ice blocks were needed to transport a tiramisu from Somerset to Worcestershire in this heat !!
As you can see from the collage there were lots of activities to keep old and young amused including badminton, French boules, balloon helicopters  and of course for the little ones, climbing on the pit wheel.
Home safely by 10:0 pm ! My parents would be amazed if they were alive as a trip to Somerset for holidays was always seen as a major expedition so to go there and back in a day would have been unbelievable to them.:)0
