Wound up in Wexford

A track

We've had a more leisurely day.

W was quite keen to watch the football, though we could've gone out if I'd insisted. Instead, we opted for a short walk around the local area after the footie, and in theory after the temperature had dropped a little. But it was still unbelievably hot. Our 4km walk felt more like 6, due to the lack of care for the public footpaths we used. They were well overgrown with nettles and thistles, and long grass. Quite hard even with good knee. On the Ordnance Survey map, this section is marked as a track.

And the way marking was also poor. We ended up emerging onto the village road up a driveway marked Private, having lost the marked path.

We stopped for a very welcome drink at the local pub, and walked back to our accommodation along the road, rather than fighting more nettles.

Thanks to everyone who dropped stars and hearts yesterday.
