The Power of the Imagination

We had snow today as you can see on our back lawn. The blackbird sitting on the seat under the patio hasn’t been playing in it yet. Of course we didn’t have snow at all. Not even frost as it was raining off and on a few times while it snowed in the hills.
When I got into my linen cupboard this morning to get fresh sheets I realised there was a damp look and feeling to the items on the top shelf. Uh oh. That is where a lot of the water from the solar heating pipe problem on Friday had gone to. Soaked in nicely. Fortunately it didn’t smell musty and wasn’t mouldy but everything had to come out. It was summer sheets mainly so 4 loads into the washing machine and onto the clothes line despite the showers. A bit of sun and wind and five minutes in the dryer and all back in the cupboard by tonight. Two sleeping bags dried well on a rack in the sun as they are nylon. Towels in two plastic bags were fine. We looked like a laundry with pillowcases, tablecloths etc draped all round just to air out and make sure no dampness remained. The heat pump turned up to 22 soon had them feeling much drier.
In between I made pumpkin soup, cooked roast lamb for tea and had a session of acupuncture in my lumbar region. A day or two will tell if it has made a difference. Most of the time spent talking about the house this young couple have bought as it belonged to a family I knew plenty about from historical research. Sold them one of our journals. So a full day with good outcomes and…..
Happy there was no snow.
