as broad as it's long

a scorching 14 miles on our old pins today. 
The first 7 miles were an endurance test in this heat.     

Overhead a couple on a boat having a right royal bicker - the highlight, for us, was her to him;
"the trouble with you is you always have to lengthen everything"     

How we laughed.

Then we saw some strange mammal bouncing about in the long grass.. not a rabbit.  It had short ears, like a sort of cat's head, long body, squat legs and a bushy tail with a white end. ??  No idea what it was.  Sadly it was too quick for me to get a picture.
