Best of early Summer

This gathering of Sundrops and a single Maltese Cross blooming on the east side of the garden bring loads of cheer.
We are lucky for our moderate temps this week. Mostly below 70ºF while others in the UK are really sweating it.
But this weekend we shall join others with 90's and Sunday nearing 100º -- if you can imagine it! 
Thankfully there have been 24 hours of good rain to prepare the garden for growing in the heat. It is summer, after all!

I am getting an unexpected house guest Sunday afternoon until Tuesday or Wednesday. I have to warn my cat, Persey, since she will be sleeping in his room and on his recliner. The last time she was here he freaked out and had to come in to tell me that someone was sleeping on his "bed."
He was confused for a few days after she left. And now she will be returning!
