I'm In Love

This guy! Such a lovely little completely harmless snake. This is a northern rough green snake. There's one of them at The Wildlife Center of Virginia whose name is "Greenbean" so that's what I'm calling this one.

The extra shows him/her in my hand - for scale of some kind. I'd say s/he was about 18 inches long, maybe? Many thanks to The Husband who spotted it and called me out of the house to see it.

Apologies to those of you who are freaked out even by photos of snakes... I hope the thumbnail gave you a clue so you could maybe avoid seeing it, or at least brace yourself/selves.
