Stare

Our short stay finished, we headed south, but spent the morning at the Highland Wildlife Park. It was even hotter than yesterday, so the polar bear cub had been confined to quarters by the vet due to the serious risk of him overheating in the sun. Quite a few of the animals were sensibly lying down in the shade, though one of the adult male polar bears was having a cool down in the pond, submerging himself as far as possible. The wolves were very active, probably due to there being several cubs keeping them on their toes. But the wildcat kitten was just lying down in the shade, working hard to perfect that 1000 yard stare.
