The First Time

... ever in six years of going on puffin hunts that I have seen one with fish in its beak!

When I reached the stretch of the cliffs where most of the puffins have their burrows I spotted these two standing out on a rocky ledge. By the time I got myself safely into a position to get the best possible shot of them they were being attacked by a razorbill.

The razorbill was dive-bombing them with the intention of getting a free meal, hoping to force the puffin into dropping the fish. Within a matter of seconds the puffins had taken off and escaped their predator by heading out to sea.
