Little and Large

The new girls and the old girls mixed free ranging for the first time today. The size difference most pronounced here between Skye (top chook, and easily the biggest), and Lexie (the teeny White Star). Skye initially just went up to them for a look, all calm.

Freya meanwhile took to chasing them, and Scarlet in particular is pretty highly string, so she didn't take too kindly to it. But those were isolated moments, and even though Skye did have a chase of them later, for the most part they went off and did their own thing.

Scarlet, despite being bigger, and seemingly the more dominant of the two new ones, seems to follow Lexie about. She's the more adventurous, and lead them into the raised beds, and then the old girls permanent run. She's going to be a little explorer I think. We'll do this a few more times before trying them in the same run....

Half day today to go back up to the house and land near Crook of Devon that I viewed before we went on holiday. This time with Mel and her dad. Didn't quite grab Mel in the same way as me, so probably not for us in the end, but at least gives us ideas. Oh, and meant we could have a cracking lunch at the Bridge Inn in Ratho before heading there.

Need this weekend after a busy week at work (though the laptop for that is home with me for the weekend).
