Glass Teeth!

I love ice. It does the most unexpected things.This formed over an air bubble trapped under a sheet of ice left over from yesterday.

Mantis Report   One of the two remaining mantises in the greenhouse died today. It was the one that was frozen last Saturday (see extra shot here). This time the filtered sunshine did not restore it. Although it has always been very slim and has never laid eggs it turned out to be a female too. Now she is dead it’s easier to tell.

This leaves the female that laid another ootheca three days ago. She is looking quite good (see extra shot), but she freezes in the frost too. If she’s gone tomorrow I won’t be surprised.
