My friend has a coffee table that has a ball bearing in sand under a glass top.

The ball bearing is constantly moving, creating and then erasing patterns in the sand.

Today I was there as it erased the last of a previous pattern and began a new one. The picture is just before it completed the ‘erasing phase, going slowly round and around until it got to the centre
