Cow...

... up a tree.

Yes of course, that's exactly what it is. And how magnificent it looks with that stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and a few scattered islands. I've entered it for Silly Saturday but really it's not silly at all just rather wonderful. It's the work of a very prestigious artist  John Kelly who has a thing for cows and the Irish landscape. He's Australian/Irish/English  and today we visited his home and sculpture park for it is open as part of the West Cork Garden Trail. John was at home as was his wife and many members of his Australian family all laughing at how hot we were finding the weather!  We enjoyed tea and a good chat then ambled around their 13 acres, all full of interesting work including a sort of sky garden cum burial tomb, a glass sculpture based on Tate Modern and lots of mating sheep (sculptures).  And that little dot could be the very irate stonechat who was furious that we were disturbing his peace.

We treated ourselves to lunch in Union Hall and by the time we were home it was time for a swim. Summer living! There's an official drought in Dublin now,
