Bench at wind turbine no 42. Whitelee Windfarm.

Oot n aboot. We rested a short while and soaked up the view. A hot day with little shade. Enough wind for the turbines to turn, but little breeze at ground level. This is the largest onshore windfarm in the UK. It generates enough power to provide electricity to circa 300,000 homes. The turbines are 110m tall when the rotor blade tip is at it’s highest point. Well worth a visit. Nice information centre and cafe too. And miles of walks and cycle routes.
