Heading for the Hills ...

Had a lovely evening last night sipping pre-dinner drinks looking at Ben Vrackie followed by tandoori chicken cooked in outside oven. On our way back we saw two deer bounding across the fields.

Got up early (for us ) and headed up Ben Vrackie as planned. This was my 11th ascent and possibly the finest with respect to weather conditions and views.

We also spotted another squirrel on approaching the car park at the start.

As can be seen from picture we werent the only ones heading up Ben Vrackie. A number of solo hikers and groups of various sizes had the same idea, including a group of Canadians. On being wished Happy Canada day from another hiker we were treated to rendition of O Canada. On arrival there were a playing the bodhran and penny whistle. A lovely atmosphere.

The picture also show Beinn a Ghlo, a massif of three munros which we did a few years back; unlike Ben Vrackie not to be repeated but I do enjoy looking at them knowing "I've done that"

Feeling slightly stiff now so fingers cross the yoga stretches will help ward off the worst.

Three days at work next week and then off for two and a bit weeks (not that I'm counting)
