An Avid Lensman

Black & White (with coloured bits)

The Rose & Crown, Harnham, Salisbury.

Since a schoolboy attending Grammar School within the Cathedral Close, I've always loved these black and white characterful old buildings. The more higgledy-piggledy, the better!

Just south of the cathedral Close, over the ancient and original medieval stone arched bridge over the Avon (still used by local traffic, but only in single file, due to its narrowness).

Most tourists seem to not quite make it this far, but with several wonderful angular toll houses, all looking superb with their summer-flower gardens right now, it is very much worth the wander.

Add blue skies (but not the boiling, stifling heat) made for a welcome, quick visit, alas, the other chocolate box images taken were just a bit boring, really, so an ultrawide angle of this fine hotel it is.

Other things had to be done also, today - annoyingly this has to happen occasionally!
