Haar

Still having the use of the hire car, drove out to Hawes Pier in order for D to get back to the island after his wee break. We had not anticipated the Rotary Club having organised a huge charity abseil off the Forth Bridge, or the consequent difficulty parking. I went out too and did a few domestic chores while waiting for the next boat on which were blip pals SamIam, Sands and CanCarrier. We ate strawberries and mooched around the abbey. Back on shore by about 4 pm and was going to give CC a lift back into Edinburgh, but an SUV had parked so close (< 6") to front bumper that it was impossible for me to get the car out, even with someone helping from the pavement. Decided not to wait around since everywhere was stowed with abseilers and crew. Hiked up to Dalmeny station and got the train back to Edinburgh; had a bite to eat at home then returned to SQ around 7.30 pm by which time a different vehicle was parked in front of mine leaving ample room to get out. That's three hours of my life I won't get back. Thought of blipping the offending SUV, but thought this image of the haar rolling in to Edinburgh, taken from Inchcolm at around midday, was more pleasing on the eye.
