The tiny and not so tiny ...

Another look at the chicks nesting around Dunbar Harbour. When I first arrived at my regular lookout point there was a pigeon standing on the rock where my normal brood of gull chicks are located and I wondered what had happened to them. However, when the pigeon flew off the family quickly appeared. Not so tiny nowadays with their juvenile plumage well developed but their heads look rather scraggy. However, they look positively blooming compared with the shag chicks whose overall downy feathers look very unkempt.
