Junior Technology Showcase

We held a "Showcase evening at school today, exhibiting the work that our Year 7 to 10 students have completed in the first semester.

This is the lamp that a Year 9 student made.  He entirely designed it himself.  Deciding that he wanted an 'industrial' look, he chose concrete on timber for his base.  When the base dried too fast, and cracked down one side he problem solved it himself and create a copper feature (doesn't show here) to infill withe crack.  The overall effect is impressive - and he has already one an award for it in a South Canterbury student 3D Art competition.

The evening went really well with a lot of students bringing their parents along to see their work:  On display were:

Digi pets
Mousetrap racers
Co2 racers
birdhouses
lamps/lamps
wooden robots
cushion covers
paintings
eco art
posters
food
and other things that I can't remember at the moment
