Normand Pioneer

Left to my own devices whilst LB was stuck in conference calls all day, I decided to see where the last stop on the No. 11 bus in Edinburgh takes you. It turns out that the final stop is Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht Britannia is moored; however, it was this vessel that I was more interested in!

The Normand Pioneer is a Pipe Layer that was built by Ulstein Verft, Ulsteinvik, Norway in 1999. This is the link to its Technip booklet, which is a fairly fascinating read even for a complete novice like myself!

Random facts and figures:
? Gross tonnage - 5,913 Te
? Service Speed - 12 knots
? Call sign - MYYY6
? Accommodation - 79 people in 45 cabins

M&S dinner for two in the oven in preparation for us going out to a friend's bar opening this evening with Maurice the Monkey in tow!
