Balgo Pound, Tanami Desert,

Balgo Pound was formed by the soft sand on the desert floor being eroded, probably by wind velocity, while the harder cliffs stayed intact. The Balgo Pound isn't a complete enclosure, having a wide area where the cliffs don’t join.

Lots of spinifex! More photographic than personally friendly - you wouldn't want to sit on one!

We visited the wonderful Aboriginal Art Gallery at Balgo community, but I didn't find a painting - not yet!

Day 2 of swagging in the desert - it's been great fun so far, and a super group to be travelling with. We will get on to the actual Canning Stock Route itself tomorrow, after we've picked up our fresh fruit and vegetables from Halls Creek. It's all quite a mission, getting this Road Show on the road!

12 July - just put an image of the Tanami Track/Road into Extras. There are 2 people walking on it.

Backblipping ...
