Tverrdalen

S had identified a wee hill, Tindane 1336 metres, a little west down the road, so after breakfast we drove to the starting point. Where we had stayed it was clear, but overnight the Norwegian equivalent of haar had come up the fjords and had its top at about 700 metres. There were good views of the higher hills and we had good views as we ascended the hill. One of the extras shows a panorama of a still partially ice-covered lochan with the cloud filled glens beyond. As we got higher we came across lots of bare rock and deep snow patches as we followed the red marks on the rocks. The view from the top was good, but the cloud sea was breaking up and rising so we left and had our lunch lower down. A Norwegian came up and we had a good chat. He asked where we were going and we told him we were off to Sweden; he laughed and said it was all trees and some lakes. We talked about the world cup and he said he wanted England to crush Sweden; we replied that we wanted the opposite. He laughed heartily and set off for his hill, and we went back down towards the van. On the way down we saw a couple of Lemmings and the other extra is a crop of the best shot I could get without a decent telephoto. The main blip is of the river below where the van was parked looking east towards the still quite snowy hills.
