GENESIS

I’d forgotten all about my birthday when this doorstop of a book arrived -the heart stopping breathtaking superlative project of Brazilian photographer Salgado whose pictures we saw in the Placa Arenal, Jerez de la Frontera ( see my photos of 10th June), and which my beloved Sarah has just got as an unexpected birthday surprise. Just as Salgado is a reminder of what true photographic genius is, combining composition with a deep understanding of the natural world and humanity’s place within it, he serves as an inspiration to us lesser mortals who strive to dour best with whatever talents we are blessed.
