Staying Home

Spent the day at home, tidying up a bit in the garden and trying to catch up on chores. It was quite a bit cooler, but still warm enough to eat lunch outside. Alas, we've been noticing a small invasion of rats in the garden, and maybe I've discovered the reason: the folks over the back fence have been doing some much needed major weed cleanup. There was an impenetrable dangerous mass back there that maybe sheltered all kinds of critters; now it's back to dirt. The young tenants are enthusiastic about putting in a garden of native edible plants, and I truly hope they go through with it. That plot has been neglected for way too long. In the meantime, we are trying to figure out what to do about the rats before they multiply.
