Balancing ball

A quick early morning walk to the river, where I spotted this heron balancing on one of the lane markers in the Rowing Lake, before returning home to mow the lawn, go shopping, deal with some paperwork and prepare all the food for Ben's birthday barbecue.

We had a really lovely evening, lingering over our meal until long after sunset. I think he's had a pretty good weekend, with three separate birthday celebrations. Back to normal again tomorrow!
