Masterpiece

Masterpiece from France. The Art Gallery of South Australia is currently home to some major French artists: Monet, Manet, Renoir, Guillemet, Seurat, Cézanne, Boudin, Gaugin and Morisot.

They're all here – well, 65 of their paintings are – because France's glorious Musée d'Orsay has opened up its collection and lent a treasure trove of impressionist masterpieces to Adelaide for this priceless exhibition. It is titled "The Colours of Impressionism."

This painting by French artist A. Guillemet titled "Bercy in December" really took my eye. I went back to it a number of times, seeing something different each time. And so I have decided to make it my blip for today.

Pleasingly phone cameras and small cameras were allowed, no flash of course. If you get a chance when visiting Paris, we suggest you put a visit to the Musée d'Orsay at the top of your list.
