A Bee In Her Bonnet

Folks from my Nature Journaling class came over this afternoon to draw in the garden. Spent a couple hours working on this flower. Sans bee. It's complicated enough on its own, but the bee makes you realize what all the parts are for.

After dinner we went downtown to the jazz club again. Seems like we've been there a lot recently, checking out a rich array of music. Tonight was Ranky Tanky, a South Carolina band that features jazz influenced arrangements of traditional Gullah music: melodies from spirituals, children's rhymes and dance tunes.  Words can't say it. This was a terrific show. Listen to a couple tracks if you can.
