Cones

The familiar Christmas tree the Norway spruce.

Introduced in 1500 and popularised by Prince Albert, it originally grew here before the Ice Age but was exterminated by the cold. The cones are long and cigar shaped with downward pointing scales being rounded at the end.

Whilst taking this, an enormous dog galloped towards my westies and to be fair it could have had them for breakfast! Total mayhem!! Growling, squeaking, nipping, barking and chasing round ensued with me being used as defence barrier with the dog menacingly prowling round, my dogs going mental and - no owner in sight! Hailing a few, 'Helloooos' in the middle of the wood had no effect either. Camera and bag in the way too of course in all this with dog leads inside which wouldn't have done much good anyway. I had visions of it all getting seriously out of hand! Tilly as though on elastic came out barking then bravely ran back behind me again and again. Finally it got bored of the fracas and on gambolling away Tilly really pushed her luck deciding to hurry it's retreat by belting up the track with a nip at it's heels to finish it off to send it on it's way - why? Did she have some sort of death wish?!

A girl appeared finally - on her mobile!! No acknowledgement ....completely clueless.... and the dog followed her - tail wagging - what fun!!
