Gatekeeper

I love it when I think I've taken a photo of one thing and discover a whole world of incidental delights when I look at my photo on a big screen: so my subject, the gatekeeper butterfly, becomes just part of the landscape among foliage, spiky hawthorn stems and blossom, and glistening thistledown in the background.

It's been another gorgeous, hot, sunny day, with a pleasant, light breeze. Drove to Dartmouth for a quick food-shop. Pegged out some washing which dried in no time. I love the summer!
