Small Places

Dunstanburgh Castle

Our last day on the Northumbrian coast, before heading home. It's an extensive ruin on a clifftop site, and a couple of kilometres walk from the nearest road. Craster, to the south, has cafes and the larger car park, but we walked from a small car park at Dunstan Steads.

There are razorbills on the clifftop, too, but I hadn't thought to take a telephoto lens. My blip is a fisheye view from the top of the gatehouse.

(We were pleasantly surprised to find that although the site is managed by English Heritage, it is owned by the National Trust, so our NTS membership gave us free access. I don't know if there is anywhere else like that.)
