My Sweet George

A quick photo on the way out of the door this morning, the sign was left there after the march on Saturday and I think George would have approved.

I took Mrs S to Drem train station from where she was going to start the usual convoluted rail journey between two major cities, Edinburgh and Liverpool. Shouldn't be that difficult hey?

Started with the train being cancelled from North Berwick, so I turned the car back around and headed back to Drem. Mrs S was sat with a couple who had come from Sri Lanka and were trying to get up to St Andrews. So, I ran them all along to Edinburgh Waverley and waved them off.

After that Mrs S went from Edinburgh to Preston where the connection to Ormskirk which is where she would alight to get the actual train to Liverpool was cancelled. So she jumped on a train to Warrington instead. However, there are two stations in Warrington and the one she arrived at didn't do trains to Liverpool so she got a taxi across to the one that does. But it only does trains to Liverpool South Parkway, where she had to get off and get another train to Liverpool Central. That's a joined up transport infrastructure for you.

She met Kath in the city centre and pretty soon I was getting photos of very weird cocktails with smoke and bubbles coming from them, which is the only way to truly get over a journey like that.

In other news, Eve baked a fantastic white chocolate and peach traybake, the broadband is still knackered and so is my back.
