Pro Patria

The War Memorial Building at the Edinburgh Academy was built in 1922 to recognise the 180 pupils who had given their lives in the Great War, a near 20% fatality rate on those from the school who served between 1914 and 1918.

I am not sure the sentiments of Pro Patria are with us today BUT I am sure that the thoughts and respect of many citizens still go to those who have and continue to give their lives in military service.

Peace in our time is an admirable objective
