Winter brights

Every time I step into my garden, I can't believe my dahlias are still flowering.
These wonderful flowers are a nightmare to grow. The bulbs were planted in the late Spring and as soon as the shoots began to show themselves, they were being greedily scoffed by bugs.
For months this was a source of huge frustration and it was August before I saw any flowers at all.
However, here we are in mid-November and these beauties are still cheering up my garden so it's all been worthwhile.
I expect I am supposed to dig them up now and store the tubers away safely so they'll live to bloom another season. However, as long as they are putting on such a great show, I think I'll take my chances and leave them be.
