Life on the Mothership!

Leavers' Assembly

He's been at the school for 16 years.  Not an easy ride as his needs very complex.  Was saddened to realise out of the 13 children leaving he was the only one who hadn't been on a residential.  Some had been on two or three.  They always said he was too complex even though I even offered to go with them.  This is the young person who wild camps with me above the Artic Circle with CPAP and suction machine!
He screamed for the first few years due to involuntary movements, pain and seating.  Had a good couple of years then became very poorly with obstructed breathing and excess secretions.  After a new med a year and a bit ago he is now an absolute delight and starting to communicate via eye gaze and symbols.
