Dunstanburgh

Having been forewarned by Barbara that Lindisfarne Castle is covered in scaffolding we decided to visit Dunstanburgh on the way home from Seahouses today.
It's a good walk from Craster, a journey I last attempted 21 years ago but had to abandon when I slipped and sprained my ankle. This time we made it there and back in one piece.
After a great chowder for lunch we bought some kippers from the renowned smokers in Craster and then headed south.
The final stop was at Woodhorn Museum which has the permanent collection of the Pitman Painters.
And home. Just a shame we couldn't squash a longer visit in. So much else that we could have done. Next time.
And thanks for the appreciation of yesterday's puffins. :-)
