Compton Verney

We went to Compton Verney for a morning drink, which stretched into lunch. I visited the two current exhibitions, The Marvellous Mechanical Museum and Rodney Peppé’s World of Invention whilst Ann went for a walk. The first display a collection of Automata from the 18th century on, whilst the second is a collection of books and models by Peppe. Both were very interesting and the moving mechanical creations very clever.

Later we went with Tom to Trigger Pond, a pub in Bucknell near Bicester, to meet Emma and Andy who were handing over Luna, their cockapoo, to us for a few days whilst they go on holiday. She was fine in the car home and after a little explore seems to settling in at home with us. It will be an interesting week!

The picture is part of the wheat field opposite the entrance to Compton Verney.
