The main problem with being a group organiser is finding - and keeping - a venue.
My crochet/knit group has moved around Manchester so many times as we've needed bigger space or the room just doesn't work for us anymore (like a previous place when they crammed a space group into the corner of our room so they could build rockets out of old umbrellas).

We tried a new place tonight which was really big, had good food and alcohol but the light wasn't so great. You really notice the lack of decent light when you're trying to crochet with black wool, especially when the lights are more for style!

It's always such a lovely night but made even better when I hear that a couple of new members (from Norway and Indonesia) have met up with people, outside of our usual sessions.  Hearing what a difference this has made to them settling into a new city makes all the organising completely worthwhile.

I am looking forward to removing my organiser hat for the weekend!

There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
