The Arrival of Spring

Well that all seems like a long time ago - remember those cool days, when everything was green and growing. When we had days of rain and we longed for a bit of sun.

Each picture in the gallery depicts a specific day between January and May 2011 on Woldgate, near Bridlington. Hockney drew them on site on an iPad and then they were printed out large scale. ‘A celebration of fleeting moments of intense beauty.’ An impressive exhibition.

We drove down to Bradford this morning and, as it was quite damp, we stayed in Salts Mill for a few hours - no hardship with lunch, galleries and bookshop!

Then we headed over to Bingley, as the reason we were here today was to go to the Celebration of Life of a colleague and good friend, who died last week. A beautifully put together event with speakers and music. A huge gathering of colleagues, friends and family. We met people we haven’t seen for many, many years (and a couple of Blippers were there too). A positive celebration of a remarkable guy. He will be missed.
