One of my favourite places in the Peak District is The Roaches which is a ridge of huge boulders and rugged gritstone cliffs standing overlooking the nearby Staffordshire and Cheshire countryside.  Although it was slightly hazy it was still possible to see towards Liverpool in the distance and often the Welsh mountains can be seen.  This view is from near the top of one of the many climbing routes where there were dozens of climbers all around.  The grandchildren meanwhile enjoyed clambering up some of the huge boulders making me envious of their youthful agility and bringing back memories of days gone by.
