BISON.

We would drive for hours without seeing any animals. But then you would see cars and people at the side of the road and that would tell you they had seen something. That happened on this particular day and when we stopped we saw a bison in a field of flowers. Millions of bison once thundered across North America. These massive animals, characterized by their long, shaggy brown coats, have poor eyesight but acute hearing and an excellent sense of smell.
