There’s three in this photo, one seems to like living on the edge.
I started counting them in the garden. I got to 163,809 but I got fed up. I guess there must be millions of them.
As far as I can see, they’re pretty harmless, feeding on pollen although they can be a problem to oilseed rape farmers.
We have quite a few roses in our garden but the blooms don’t seem to last for long, perhaps that’s part of their beauty.
I don’t know if it’s a good year for them or not, but it has to be this song. It conjures up such a clear scenario in relatively few words I think.
