Tännforsen

We drove into Sweden today and it was quite hazy. We got out of the van and it smelt of wood smoke. It’s been the driest summer for 276 years in Sweden and there have been quite bad forest fires and we were smelling one, although it may have been Norwegian. As you cross the border the scenery is rounder, but no less wild. Sweden also has a lot more information for visitors and it is easier to find things. The extra is a typical high country scene with high hills and a foreground of the much maligned rose-bay willow herb. We then drove to see Sweden’s most voluminous waterfall. Tännfossen, which is only 28 metres high, but usually is very powerful. This year the flow is low and the blip reflects this.
