From Lochranza with Love

A dry day with much sunshine but quite light winds which meant the old Beta was fired up on occasion - notably through the Kyles and again a couple of miles (nautical miles, obvs) off Lochranza.
And so we did stroll up and down the village. Not a shop to be seen. All closed, said the barman. I wonder how peeps without cars manage in these places. I’d been there 27 years ago and there were several shops including a good butcher’s. What’s a going on, people?
So, back to the barman. He didn’t have a long face, but he was a taciturn effer so he was. Still, he sold us a bottle of wine at cost price to paddle back to the boat with. And there we did sit, walloping about in the evening sunshine. Cliche time, but when it’s like this, there’s nowhere quite like Scotland.
