grace notes

Every now and again someone does or says something good or positive that they didnt have to do or say. It comes out of left park, it stops us in our tracks because it is unusual.... in the sense that in todays cynical world, generosity is rarely  offered without some payback implied.
I am stating this rather than endorsing it, as I believe acts of random generosity have inherent redemptive power.
These swans made from towels in our hotel room were unnecessary but so welcoming to weary travellers. They were grace notes.
Grace notes are like musical accompaniments which can be offered in all our daily engagements. We need to be willing to create opportunities to change the melody of the mundane and raise it to symphonic levels.
