Kursaal

Day 432 of the 2018 heatwave! Brain is now officially fried!

A morning trip out with the parents today to a garden centre in Great Wakering - to pick up rabbit food and plant food! - and that means we got to drive along Southend seafront so I got a quick snap of the Kursaal as we drove past. It's a Grade II listed building that used to be home to a huge amusement park, greyhound racing and even home to Southend United F.C for a short time. Unfortunately it ran into disrepair during the 1970's and eventually the majority of the land was used for housing, with the main part of the Kursaal building being reopened in 1998 and is now home to a bowling alley and amusements - not the glamorous destination of years gone past unfortunately.

Mission accomplished at the garden centre, alongside the purchase of 2 plants that were on the half price sale table that we felt sorry for! I'm sure I'll work out somewhere to plant them over the next few days!
