Bon Accord

Bon Accord was the secret password used by the soldiers of Robert the Bruce when they laid siege to Aberdeen Castle and massacred the English garrison. Subsequently Robert had the castle demolished so the English would not be able to use it again. Bon Accord has become part of the motto of Aberdeen and it is seen around the city.

I noticed the Aberdeen shield in Union Terrace Gardens was looking very bright today. The lady in the hi viz jacket was busy with the sprinkler ensuring it stays that way. (Though rain is forecast tomorrow). The people sitting on the terrace above the shield had to move as they are just about to get sprayed.

It was just starting to cloud over as I arrived here, and it became quite overcast. Maybe the rain is going to arrive early.
