Erddig

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . To queue

A long drive south to Wales today with brother Ron and Margaret.

Unfortunately, not very far down the M6, we got embroiled in the massive queues that were the result of an accident earlier in the day.  A lorry had hit a bridge - and so the motorway was closed between Junctions 33 - 32.  Eventually we got clear and decided to have our picnic lunch in the grounds of the National Trust mansion at Erddig.

There were lots of people queuing there too - because they were filming an episode of The Antiques Roadshow.  But it was all very good-natured and there was an air of excitement as people waited to show the experts their glass, jewellery, furniture and the rest.  This was the art historian, Rupert Maas, valuing a picture for a lady.

Unfortunately, he couldn't do much to reassure her that she had a masterpiece - and it was only worth about a hundred pounds . . . . . .
