Painted Lady

Saw dozens of Small White butterflies this afternoon but it was so windy and the butterflies alighted on the thistles for such a short time that I was on the point of giving up trying to get any photo when this Painted Lady flew in.

She settled on one of the thistles and was in no hurry to move on  ....  so I moved a little closer  .....   'click' and the job was done.
