The Hepworth Gallery

Headed back home via the excellent Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield.   Beautiful building in an unpromising part of Town.  We went primarily to see the Lee Miller exhibition, which was fascinating.   An incredible woman, it’s hard to believe everything she packed into her life.   I wasn’t overly familar with Barbara Hepworth’s work but it was a delight, as was the coverage of Henry Moore.   A great exhibition of contemporary British photography, including Chris Killip, a personal favorite.

Finally took in a Vivane Sassen exhibition - less convinced here but her video installation was mesmerizing.

A long drive home but lots of inspiration - I wish we had a contemporary space like this in Scotland.
