Avocet chicks

Avocets are my favourite birds so today we took a trip to Lunt meadows where we knew there were chicks. They were on a back pool that doesn't have a hide but we managed to get a decent view inbetween the long grasses. I found it hard to pick a blip photo as I also liked the adult photos but the chick edged to the first choice for it's cuteness! So extras of the adults and one of two chicks.
We then retreated to the shade of Mere Sands woods for the afternoon. Not much in the way of sightings (I think it's just too hot for everything!) but still an enjoyable walk non the less.
