Ah, petrichor - at last!

It rained !
Unfortunately only for a few minutes, just long enough to dampen the ground slightly - not enough to do any good. There was thunder rumbling around too, but again nothing much.
Petrichor is one of those words which is not in very common use, but I like it. It has only one definition -  the unique smell of rain on dry earth. Difficult to describe, impossible to photograph - you can't see a smell - but we all know what it is.
